Accurate Boost?

I was just wondering how accurate your guys's boost gauges are. I just got mine installed and it reads 2 psi! What the fuck? I'm running the stock JRSC setup. Could it be that my aftermarket (Unorthidox) crank pulley is slowing down my charger? Or could it be that my check engine light is on? (My O2 sensor is fried) Or could it be both? Someone please help!

I doubt it's really 2 psi. your car would be pretty slow. The vac line that goes to the manifold from the boost guage is probably bent or pinched. Check it out good then try again. (boost it)

Crank pulley will definately make it lower....how much lower i dont know...depends on the pulley size

what vacum reading do you get at idle (should be ~ -30/-35psi)? if your getting a good vac reading the gauge should be working . it may be you just need to tighten the belts . check for kinks in the line like suggested and then check the belts . if you dont know how to gauge belt deflection id do a search in the board . belts too tight will wear out bearings prematurely and can dammage parts .

Since I went through this already with the unorthodox I'd say your boost is correct.

With the six pound kit, I made around 2.5 psi, with a 10psi set-up it went all the way up to 5 psi.

I took it off.

Under WOT, my boost gauge reads 8.5psi even though I only have the 6psi setup. I've tried different headers and they have no effect on my boost reading so I suspect my cat to be my bottleneck. Test pipe here we come!

But I thought the 10 psi setup replaces the crank pulley???

sorry, although I think it's still the unorthodox pulley causing your low boost, for my b16 engince (not gsr) the 3.8 pulley was equivelant to around 10 psi with a stock crank pulley.

for b16 with stock crank pulley
4.2 sc pulley = 6psi
4.0= 8
3.8 =10

I have a 4.0 on there now with my stock pulley.
